Trouble may bring you to Jesus

Isaiah 26:16 LORD, In trouble have they visited thee, They poured out a prayer when thy chastening was upon them.

People are so funny. They often will not seek God unless they are in trouble. They need to be at a breaking point. They need to be in a crisis in their lives.

Isaiah says that they came looking for God in their trouble. They prayed because God was disciplining them. God might be working in your life. You have wandered away from God. You are living in rebellion, and you know it. God might allow the circumstances of your life and the consequences of your sin overwhelm you. You just might need to hurt so you can get help. You might need to suffer to see your need for a Savior.

Unbeliever, the person that is not a follower of Christ, you might need to get to the end of your rope before you are willing to listen. You might refuse to pray until you get low enough. So count the chastening a friend if it drives you to the Lord.
