Job 31:29 If I rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, Or lifted up myself when evil found him:
Job had not been glad to see his enemies suffer. He had not hoped to see God get even with those that hurt him. That is a tremendous truth. Many people have others that have injured them. We can long to see God give them what they deserve, but that is never His will. He wants us to live in mercy and kindness. He wants us to trust that He will bring about what is needed in their lives.
We are not to rejoice. Job was doing exactly what was right:
Proverbs 24:17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, And let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: 18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, And he turn away his wrath from him.
Do you enjoy seeing those you dislike get hurt? It is time to change your attitude. We do not seek vengeance. We do not get even. We trust God to take care of any injustices.
