God put it in his heart

Nehemiah 7:5 And my God put into mine heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of them which came up at the first, and found written therein,

I love realizing that God was working in Nehemiah’s heart. God put it into his heart. Nehemiah had an idea that came from God. Nehemiah recognized that it was God that put the idea in his heart. We should learn to recognize that God is at work in our hearts and lives as well.

When you have a thought that brings great honor and glory to God you might consider if it is possible that God is putting that into your heart. God can work in us. He can place things in our minds.

If we are not sensitive to the Holy Spirit, we might think that we are just coming up with good ideas. We might try to take credit and glory for something God is doing.

Pray and seek His face. Listen and watch to see what He might do in your heart. Be open to His working in your life.
