Ezra 6:22 And kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the LORD had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
God had heard and answered their prayer. They recognized that it was God who had turned the heart of the king. It was God who caused the king to help them instead of hinder them. Instead of thinking that the king was just a nice guy they looked to God to move him. The king had assisted them financially. The king had given them the freedom to do the work of God. They were full of joy. Their joy was in what God had done more than in what any man had done.
Too often we see things happening as coincidences. It just turned out that way. We little think of the hand of God at work in our lives. We are just lucky. That is simply not a biblical way to look at what is happening in our lives. We need to realize that God is at work. We need to see God moving in the affairs of even the authorities in our lives.
Seek God in prayer. Look to Him and know that He is indeed the all-powerful God of the universe. Know that He hears and answers prayer. Know that He is working so praise Him.
