I Chronicles 29:12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
We forget that we are His creation. We need to remember that He is in charge of the universe. We assume that we do things and own things. This verse puts it all in perspective. It all comes from Him. He rules over it all. He is the giver of all. The fact that you have breathe is Him. The fact that you can do what you do comes from Him.
We don’t want to recognize Him for who He is. We want to think that we are doing God favors when we honor Him or serve Him. The opposite is the truth. The fact that I am still alive is due to His goodness. The fact that I have been able to accomplish anything is from Him.
We need to change our focus and mindset. We need to realize that He is God and there is no other. We serve Him and not the other way around. I need to make decisions based on what will please Him. He is God, ruler of the universe; I am His servant. I look to Him for everything.
