I Chronicles 10:10 And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.
When the Philistines killed King Saul, they took his armor to the house of their false god, Dagon. They also planted the head of Saul in their temple. Thes trophies of war were, for them, a tribute to their god. They were saying that the false god had given them victory. They were offering Saul’s head and armor as worship to their false god.
There is a deeper lesson in this verse. When God’s men fall or fail the world, and Satan take great pleasure. They want to hang us like trophies in their worship halls of the antichrist. They want to praise sin, self, and Satan that one of God’s people have fallen.
There is much more to my sin than just my personal failure. When I fall I allow Satan to boast about his power, his “false truth,” and mock our great God. I want to be careful to honor God and live out His truth. I want to do so for His glory. I want to do so to shame the devil and not Christ. I want to have the victory so that God is glorified and not some false god.
