Location and Times
II Kings 17:16 And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal. 17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
God’s people decided not to follow Him. They made themselves idols. They worshipped those idols. They served false gods. They went so far as to sacrifice their children to these wicked gods of religion. God hated what He saw them doing. He angered God to see the people suffer at the hands of religion.
When men decide to leave the God of the Bible, they walk in ways that will eventually bring much hurt to them and their families. False gods will lead you down wicked paths that bring destruction to your family. There is only one way to avoid this error. We must get into the Bible and listen and learn. God has a way that will bring blessings.
Jesus showed us this great truth in the New Testament when He said; The thief (Satan and religion) comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy, Jesus was come to bring life and life more abundant!
