II Kings 4:3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
God is going to answer the widow’s prayer. All she has to do is prepare for the answer. The lady is to get all the pots and pans that she can get. She is to borrow from her neighbors.
It would be easy to only borrow from your closest friend. Can you imagine the conversation as you ask to borrow and your neighbors realize you are borrowing everyone’s vessels?
Does she have the faith to borrow from everyone? Is she intimidated to borrow the pots and pans? How will she deal with this demand? Her blessings depend on her willingness to believe and step out risking her reputation.
How often does God have something for me but my insecurity causes me to stand back in unbelief. How frequently am I not willing to tell my friends about the big dreams God has given me. It is up to me to step out and enjoy God’s blessings or to stand back and miss out on what He had for me.
