Biblical Separation

Joshua 23:7 That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:

God did not want His people to learn about false worship from the people around them. They were not to be a tolerant people. In a particular way, they were to be ignorant. They were not to even talk of the other gods. They were undoubtedly never to worship them. They were never to serve or give honor to them.

The truth is that if they mixed with the people, they would learn of their gods. They would need to be, at least respectful of their gods to maintain their friendship. That is something God didn’t want.

There is a very harsh truth to Biblical Christianity. It is the exclusiveness of Christ. Jesus is the only way to God. There are not multiple versions of the truth. Only Jesus is the truth. There are not many roads to heaven or even different heavens. There is one God and one God only. There is one way to God, and that is Jesus alone. That means that Biblical separation is the opposite of tolerant. It is will allow all to believe what they want but will not accept that it is right or truth.

Be careful to focus on truth no matter the cost. It is Jesus. Eternity depends on it for you, all those you love, and even the world.
