Exodus 29:45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.
Can you imagine the greatness of this news? The great God of Heaven, the Creator, the owner of the entire earth, will dwell among people. He will be their God, their personal God. This had to be the most exciting news they could have imagined. God loved them enough to want to dwell with them, live among them.
All this information about the tabernacle is about God loving a people, dwelling among them, having fellowship with them. This was not a god they had made but the God who made them. He deserved all the reverence and honor they could give Him.
What is even more exciting is what happens in this dispensation, the New Testament. God dwells, lives in, inhabits us! If you are a born-again Christian, then God lives in you. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit. God is not somewhere else. He is not at the church, not in a tent somewhere else, the Tabernacle but dwelling in us.
God is so good. He came to us. He saved us. Now He lives in us!
