Ezekiel 18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
God spoke to Ezekiel to teach the people that they could repent and live. God doesn’t want anyone to die. He doesn’t want us to suffer. He has shown us clearly that sin causes suffering. That as people disobey they bring suffering on themselves. If a person would realize that God loves them and is not trying to stifle them it would certainly help understand God’s heart.
So here is the lesson. Your sin is killing you. Turn from you. Listen to God. Do what He says. He will bless you and your life. You will not be suffering the consequences of your sin.
