Jeremiah 23:4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
God wanted His people to have the right kind of shepherds. He wanted them to have shepherds who would feed them. He wanted them to live in peace. He didn’t want them to live in fear. He didn’t want them to do without. He didn’t want them to be dismayed or live in terror. God wanted His people to be loved by a person He would put in their life as their spiritual leader.
Today in the New Testament we should consider His heart’s desire as we do our ministry. God’s people should get clear, consistent, Biblical truth taught to them on a regular basis. God gave His people His Word. We do not have to go to psychologists etc to help our people. We just need to clearly expose and explain His Word to them.
God’s people should be shown the truth so that Satan, the devil, the accuser, their enemy can’t cause them to live in fear and terror. God gave pastors to His people, shepherds, to help them in their spiritual lives.
It is time for those of us that are pastors to stand up and live out what the Scriptures teach for His honor and glory. We also will be a blessing to His people that way!
