Man made gods

September 14, 2017 By Austin Gardner Leave a Comment

Psalm 135:15 The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands. 16 They have mouths, but they speak not; Eyes have they, but they see not; 17 They have ears, but they hear not; Neither is there any breath in their mouths. 18 They that make them are like unto them: So is every one that trusteth in them.
How horribly sad to watch men pray to pieces of metal, wood, rock, and other materials that they made or bought from someone who made them. They make intricate shapes and call them gods. They set up temples to their artwork and call it worship. They come and turn prayer wheels. They ring bells. They chant and pray. They do not know God. They only know the god they made or bought. They do not know a god that can move them and take care of them rather a god that is their responsibility. They need to know the God of heaven. They have gods but their gods have mouths that can’t speak while we serve a God that speaks and actually gave us HIs written Word. They serve gods that have eyes that can’t see while our God sees us and our needs and meets our needs. They have god that have ears but can’t hear while we have a God that hears and answers prayer. Our God gave us our breath and theirs has no breath. They are foolishly trusting in something they made. They do not know what they are doing but we have the answer. What will we do about that?
