Strangers, Foreigners to hear

I Kings 8:42 (For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

When Solomon was dedicating the temple he thought of all those non Jewish people that needed to know God. The blessing of God on His people were to cause people to want to know about such a great God. They would hear of it and then come looking to learn more. They would worship a God of such power.

I believe that even today God is worthy to be worshipped because He does do great things in our lives. I am not sure that we share what He has done or is doing. I am not sure that we make much of Him like we should. It should be that people hear about how great our God is because we tell the story unashamedly.

I would also ask you to notice the idea of world evangelism here in this verse. They would hear and know about the great God of Israel. The idea was that all should hear and know. God is the God of the world not one country. All should hear of Him and believe.
