Judges 17:10 And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.
Imagine a man of God being for sale like this man. They promised him a salary, clothes, and food. He was to serve them in the ministry. There is nothing wrong with that but this man left the service of God to serve a man and later a tribe. He used idols and did things that were not God’s will.
His convictions were for sale. He would do what he was paid to do. He would preach what they wanted. He would be their religious leader and lead them where they wanted to go and to do what they wanted to do.
God’s man ought not to be working for men but God. He ought not to say what they want him to say but what God wants him to say.
I do not want to be for sale. I want to please God. I want to do His will.
