Numbers 6:23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, 24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: 25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: 26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
I love reading this and seeing the heart of my Father. He told His priests, His men, His spiritual leaders to ask for His blessings on His people. This wasn’t the idea of the men but of God. This is what God told Aaron to tell His men to do. He wanted them blessed. He wanted them to hear good words from the Father. Aaron was to ask God to bless and keep them. He was to ask God to show them His favor and be gracious to them. He wanted Aaron to ask for God to give them His peace.
No one wouldn’t love to hear that from God and from His man. Where did this judgmental, mean spirit come from that can be found in so many churches. Why do we gravitate to the part where we get to yell at God’s people. I want to be a blessing and share His blessings.
