Exodus 29:42 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee. 43 And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.
Two lambs are being offered every day continually in the Tabernacle. There would be a continual burnt offering throughout their generations. But notice what it says. That all happens “where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.” That is where He promised to meet with the children of Israel.
Do you see what I see? He meets with His people in the place where the lamb is sacrificed. He meets with His people where sin is forgiven by a substitutionary sacrifice. The access to God is opened and provided by the death of a lamb. That is how a man can get to God, through the Lamb.
We know that Lamb to be Jesus since we have read in the New Testament. Do you see that the judgment has already been poured out on the lambs before the meeting. The lambs suffer and die. The lambs are continually be sacrificed. All that is a picture of the Lamb of God that would come and die on the cross for us. It is through the Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ, that we have access to the Father.
I love it that He speaks to us after the sacrifices. He meets with us not in judgement but in love, grace, mercy, and tenderness. He has rescued us from our sins and loves us as His children!
