Nahum 2:13 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, And I will burn her chariots in the smoke, And the sword shall devour thy young lions: And I will cut off thy prey from the earth, And the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
What a terrible thing to hear or read! God was against them, the nation. He would not allow them to win the battle. He would destroy their instruments of war. They were in deep trouble.
Sin and rebellion gets us to that place. God loves us. His grace is great and real but should never be taken for granted. We should never think that it doesn’t matter what we do. Sin has consequence. God will be gracious and rescue us from falling into sin but when we willfully and intentionally do wrong we will pay the price.
God against them. The thought of God being against us should be horrifying. We love Him. We want Him on our side and working with us.
So confess your sin. Turn from your rebellion to a life of obedience and enjoy all God has for you!
