Micah 6:7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, Or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; And what doth the LORD require of thee, But to do justly, and to love mercy, And to walk humbly with thy God?
So often when we want to please God we think of what we can give to God. Would God be glad if we gave Him this or that? It isn’t like you can buy God off. These people wanted to know if God wanted them to sacrifice their firstborn son. That is so ridiculous when you know anything about who God is. They were trying to pay for their sin and that is impossible.
We were unable to pay for our sin and so God paid for us. He paid our sin debt by giving His Son. Now what does God want. He wants us to walk with Him and do what happens in the life that has been changed by God. He wants us to live out our salvation. Be who He has made us to be.
