Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times the things that are not yet done, Saying, My counsel shall stand, And I will do all my pleasure:
Isaiah is showing the difference in the God of heaven and these gods made with hands. The gods made with hands know nothing. God knows everything from the beginning to the end. God isn’t at man’s mercy to move and do things. He thinks. He knows. He moves as and when He wishes. He does what He wants.
Isaiah is not showing God as arbitrary or any different than we see Him in all the Bible. He is a God of holiness. He is a God of character. He keeps His word. It is that simply He is not an object. He is not a creation. He is the creator. He doesn’t depend on us. We depend on Him.
He is God. He is alive. He does what He wants to do because He is alive and real. He is God.
