Psalm 71:18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; Until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, And thy power to every one that is to come.
There is no place to stop, to park, to wait to die, to retire. The psalmist realizes that he is not young any longer. He is still asking to be used. He wants God to continue to do great things in and through him.
He is asking God to use him to show God’s strength to this generation. He wants those that will follow to learn the same lessons.
I want God to use me. I do not want to quit. I want to be used as long as I am effective. I want God to make much of Himself through me.
