Psalm 70:5 But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: Thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.
The psalmist goes to God asking for and expecting an answer. He realizes that he is poor and needy. He realizes that he can’t solve his own problem. That is the first step in getting help. We need to realize we have a problem.
Once we acknowledge the problem then we seek help. We need to know where to seek help. We go to God. The psalmist knew that God was God, his help, his deliverer. He knew that while he couldn’t solve his problem that God could.
Then he expected God to help. He goes to him and says make no tarrying, I come, I am in need, come quickly.
So we need to learn to pray much like we watch God’s man doing here.
