We should know that money is not to be trusted. Most of us can keep our hearts under control as long as we do not have much money but what happens if our riches increase. Increasing money will probably cause us to fall more in love with money. The more money we have the more money we want.
Money and possessions have a way of giving us security. It makes us feel like we can deal with whatever comes our way. We are warned not to look to money, not to trust money, and not to fall in love with money.
God as you meet our needs and provide us with more and more I ask you to help me to keep my heart focused on you and not on things. I fully expect to have problems with this and need you to help me keep myself in check.
