Esther 3:13 And the letters were sent by posts into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.
An entire race and class of people were to be condemned to die. The letters were sent out. Death was marching towards them. There was no hope unless Esther would take her life in her hand, risk her life for others.
That is exactly what Jesus did for us. We were all condemned. The letter was sent. Jesus didn’t just risk His life but actually died horribly.
This death sentence is what causes everything in the book of Esther. It move people to action. Mordecai and Esther will both do all in their power to save their people. Isn’t that what we should be doing?
Should we not consider that the whole world is about to die and go hell? Shouldn’t that motivate us to action? Let’s give, go, pray, and make a difference for the cause of Christ and lost souls.
