Waiting on Him

II Samuel 5:24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.

David wanted to know if he should go and fight. God told him to go but to wait till God was ready for David to move. He would hear the moving in the mulberry trees. Then he was to go forward into battle.

I know that God is the One that does the work. It is God that moves and makes things happen. I do not want to get so good at my work that I do not think about waiting on Him. I want the leadership of the Holy Spirit. I want His power working in my life.

I do not want to become mechanical. I have before and have a tendency to get that way. I want to continue needing Him and knowing that I do.
