I Samuel 25:33 And blessed be thy advice, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself with mine own hand.
So often I want to defend myself. That really means attack someone that is perceived to be attacking me. What a foolish mistake I make in these situations.
That is similar to what was happening with David. He was going to kill Nabal. He had been offended. God stopped David from this mistake by Abigail’s help.
Thank God for how He uses people in our lives to make us stop and think. What a mistake to avenge ourselves. God knows how to take care of us.
