Judges 18:19 And they said unto him, Hold thy peace, lay thine hand upon thy mouth, and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest: is it better for thee to be a priest unto the house of one man, or that thou be a priest unto a tribe and a family in Israel?
The man of God had left the service of God any way. He had started serving an idol. One family was paying for his services. Now an entire tribe of people come to him. They steal him away and tell him that he will have it better with a larger congregation. He is glad to go with them.
I never want to be for sale. I am sure that I have been many times. I have wanted the limelight. I have wanted the better love offerings. I have wanted man’s applause.
Sometimes this could be the way to end up not obeying God. It could be the way to be for sale. I want to preach the truth. I want to stand on the truth. I do not want to do what is accepted and respected unless it is what God wants me to do!
