Judges 4:9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
Barak is a good man. He is a powerful leader and warrior. When told that God will use him Barak is afraid to go without Deborah. She warns him that if she goes the honor will not go to him as the leader and as the victor but to a woman. That is exactly what happens.
There is nothing wrong with a woman being a strong servant of the Lord. That is a very good thing! However, each of us much learn to stand on the Word of God and do right alone. We must carry our own burden. We must not be trying to get others to validate God’s will for us.
I am glad that I am surrounded by good people who help me serve God. I am blessed that God has given me a tremendous wife. I am thankful for the children and grandchildren that God has given me. I am thankful for the deacons and church staff that serve with me but I must be the man of God. I must stand and do the will of God for my life and for my ministry!
