Numbers 12:3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
Moses was a great leader. He knew how to command men. Yet, he was very meek. This word meek was used about Jesus also. As His followers we too are to be meek. What does this word mean?
Meek refers to being humble. It refers to absolute dependance on God. Meekness and humility is realizing that it is God that is our deliverer and we have received His grace.
Being proud for their life and prosperity after all God had done would have been ridiculous. When we get proud and lifted up God will often allow hardship to put us back on our knees. He wants us to realize that it is He that makes us and not we ourselves.
The idea of meekness and humility is that we put ourselves after others in importance. We esteem others better than ourselves.
