Our Sunday morning service started off with our small group sessions; which meet spread throughout the church in various locations. It is a time I enjoy immensely and would encourage anyone not involved in a small group to get involved. Following the small groups was the main service, in which Pastor Gardner preached out of Matthew 26. A wonderful message on the wasting one’s life and how not to. He explained the world sees us attending church, giving money to God, and serving God as a waste; however the Bible is at a stark contrast with that mindset, the Bible teaches that submitting one’s life to God is the only sure way to not waste it.
It was exciting to start off the service Sunday evening by showing our appreciation to our small group leaders. We, as a church, were able to recognize the hard work and sacrifice they make every week to ensure they are ready to teach their respective classes. Well, it was the first Sunday of the month which means it was Q&A night. For anyone unfamiliar, the first Sunday of the month for the evening service the congregation asks Pastor Gardner a series of questions, which he answers from the Bible. It is a great opportunity to ask that question from your devotions that has been bugging you all week, or maybe you are confused on a specific topic and would like some clarification; whatever it may be Q&A night is a perfect chance to gain some insight on it. As always the services were tremendous it is exciting to see how God is using Vision Baptist Church.
