Bring What You Are Able – Daily Devotional – November 1st, 2015

Leviticus 5:11 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon: for it is a sin offering.

It is so beautiful. God knew that we would be unable to meet the demands of the law. He provided a sacrificial system so that our sins could be paid for. All these sacrifices point to Jesus who will come and be the ultimate sacrifice.

Notice it wasn’t based on the ability of the person to make a sacrifice but really the faith to believe what God had prescribed. They were told what to bring but then God made the same statement and each time it was less.

He said if they were unable to bring the lamb then they could bring two birds in verse 7. He said in this verse that if they couldn’t bring the birds that they could bring just some flour.

The point is that God is saying I am the One making it possible for you to get your sins forgiven. You aren’t really paying for it. I make it possible for all to be saved and forgiven.

Come to Jesus now for forgiveness of your sins.
