Genesis 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
Some people have a problem with Bible prophecy. They question its validity. But as you read the Bible you will see that God constantly tells the future. The future and the past are the same as the present for Him. He is God. He is the great “I am!” He stands on the bubble of our history as though it were nothing.
Abram’s people will one day be in a strange land, serving, and being afflicted by a foreign government. It will not be an accident. It will not catch God off guard. He knows and tells Abram. We know from reading the Bible that Israel will be slaves in Egypt for about 400 years. God knew and foretold.
So later as you are reading your Bible and you come across something that God says is going to happen just get used to it. He is a God that knows the future.
