Your attitude towards God

Matthew 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

The man who had one talent produced nothing with what God gave him. The reason he produced nothing is found in his confession.

He said that he knew that the Lord was a hard man. So his attitude was that he was being mistreated. If you have that attitude towards God then it will affect the joy you feel in your work. It will affect how much you will work and how.

He said that he knew that the Lord reaped where He had not sown. This means that the servant felt like he was being taken advantage of. He felt like God was using him. If you feel this in any way about God you will certainly not work from a heart of joy. You might be so bitter that you would shrink up into the fetal position.

He feared the Lord. Instead of thinking of how good God was he was afraid. This is not the fear of respect and reverence but of punishment. No wonder he couldn’t work. No wonder he had no joy.

If you find yourself like this then you need to know more about who God is. If you are born again then you need to know how your Father is. If you are not saved and have listened to those that hate Him then you need to know how He really is from His Word and those that know Him.

How you feel about God will influence everything you do!
