Communication is an extremely important aspect of marriage. We need to know what the other is thinking and feeling. This need is often emphasized in books about marriage. However, what often gets ignored when we speak about communication is that God deserves to have the loudest voice in our marriage. In our long nights of endless chatter we push God and His Word into a box that only gets opened on Sunday morning.
Neither you nor your wife have all the answers. The answers you do have come from God’s Word; so why don’t you allow it to speak more often into your marriage? In our session at the marriage retreat we will discuss how we “shut up and let God speak!”
Conflict is to be expected. Emotions are unavoidable. What we can decide in our marriages is that God will have the loudest voice and the final say in all of the decisions we make. Instead of fighting for your rights, why not stop and think about God’s right upon your marriage.
Doing so goes much beyond reading the Bible together as a couple. Yet it most certainly starts there. If you desire to be an investor in your marriage and not just a consumer, this is a session you will not want to miss.
