Location and TimesII Samuel 12:8 And I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.
David had taken Bathsheba. He had gone out to get on his own for himself. That is what bothered the Lord. In this verse God says that He would have given David more if he had just asked.
The problem isn’t so much that we want more but that we choose to go get it for ourselves using our methods. God wants to bless us.
This is amazing. God is upset because David didn’t let God be good to him.
