Judges 7:13 And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along. 14 And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian, and all the host.
Gideon heard the Midianites talking about their dream. This was to help Gideon know that God was at work and God would win the battle for them.
The enemy soldiers knew that “GOD” was at work. They knew that He, God, was going to win the battle.
To me that shows me several things.
First, God did show them the truth.
Second, they could have done like Rahab will do and believe that God can save them. Rahab heard about God. Believed that God would win. Decided to turn against her culture, her people and believe that God.
This man could, likely, have done the same thing. He could have gone to Gideon and been saved. Yet, he chose to stay with his people and die.
Isn’t that what happens with all that get saved. They stand up and decide that they will follow Jesus no matter what their family says.
Isn’t it true that those that do not get saved may know that God is real but choose to stay with those that are in rebellion against God?
