II Thessalonians 3:1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
Paul was preaching the Word of God. We know that the Word of God is powerful, alive, and works effectively in the lives of people. But it is not the Word alone but accompanied by the great power of God Himself through the Holy Spirit.
Paul asked us to pray. Pray that the word of God would run swiftly, make progress, be unhindered. It was Paul’s desire that the Word of God would be glorified and honored.
Where the Word of God is preached, it works. Where people believe the Word of God their lives are changed. Where the Word of God is preached people love the Word. When they love the Word they honor it. They glorify God and His Word.
We are people of the Book, the Word. We should be excited about His Word and it should have first place in our hearts.
