Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
Barnabas was working in Antioch. Saul who would later be called Paul was in Tarsus. Barnabas needs help and goes to Tarsus to seek out Saul and take him back to Antioch to work with him. It is possible and even probable that Saul was doing some sort of ministry in Tarsus but nothing is mentioned about that in the Scripture. We see him first in ministry in Antioch.
That is where all the great work that Paul will do starts. That brings up the question about you getting into ministry. It is the question of how you get called to that first work. There was no mysterious call mentioned here. What we see is a need. A man who could help with that need, an invitation, and a response.
Could it be that there is a ministry for you out there? Could it be that if you would get busy where you are and wait God might just send someone to ask you to do more?
