Hosea 2:8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, And multiplied her silver and gold, Which they prepared for Baal.
The story is about the prophet’s wife playing the prostitute on him. It is a picture of what God’s people were doing to Him. Hosea is living out the message.
This verse shows that Hosea gave to Gomer all that she needed and more even when she was in her sin. She didn’t know it. She thought her sin was providing for her but it was her husband.
God’s people might think that their sin is profitable but it was really God meeting their needs. How good is our God to do so much for us even though we are undeserving!
Even when God’s people used His gifts to worship other god He was still good. Could their be another god so good as our God.
