Now therefore, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the Lord, even thou only. (Isaiah 37:20 KJV)
The desire of Hezekiah was that all the kingdoms of the earth would know God and might.
His prayer and his desire was the name and fame of God. Lord, help me to be motivated by nothing else than you glory.
The battle today is to show which is the one true God. Can you hear the Muslims as they boast about the power of their God. As they talk about how no one can stand before them. Hezekiah takes the letter from the enemy. He goes to the Lord and just spreads out the letter before Him. He says God I want the world to know that thou art God and that you are the only God. God hears his prayer and answers. We must remember to always have the only correct motive. Our goal is not to help people that is only a result of our goal Our goal is not to build our denomination or mission. Our goal is that the kingdoms of all the earth know that He is God.
That brings up a few questions. Do we earnestly desire to build His name? Are we living and serving in such a way that the outside world will know that God has to be doing a work in our lives and ministries? Are we concerned about the millions of people that have not heard the gospel and so do not know of the power and glory of our God? We must be a about the Father’s work.
