Fear of God Drives All Other Fears Away

Isaiah 8:12-13 Say ye not, A confederacy, To all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; Neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. 13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; And let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

They were not to be afraid of Assyria when it came up.  They were to sanctify the Lord of hosts and let Him be their fear and their dread.

It is hard to be afraid of men when you know that God is much bigger and stronger.  Fear of men and all other fears will face away when God has His rightful place in our lives.

Lord, forgive me for being afraid.  Help me to sanctify You, to set You apart in my heart.  I respect, fear, and dread You.  I know I will stand before You one day.  I want to live wholly for You.
