I Chronicles 22:7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:
What is in your mind to do for the name of the Lord your God? David thought about God, His name, His kingdom, etc. He wanted to do something for His God.
I wonder what is in my mind. I am afraid that I often think of my name, my honor, my reputation, my work, and not so much in the things of God. I often veil it with things for Him but how often is it for me. I want to live a life that would truly honor Him and not one that is for my name.
David prepares everything for the building of a temple that will not carry His name. David sacrifices because He loves God and cares not who gets the credit for the temple. Is world evangelism ours or His? Are we doing this with the right motives? God help us love You and do all for Your glory. Forgive us our sinful pride and wicked ambition.
