Tender heart

September 25, 2014 By Austin Gardner Leave a Comment

II Kings 22:19 Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the LORD.

Josiah has a tender heart, he humbles himself before the Lord and God hears his prayer. There wasn’t much that he could do about how his family and country had failed God in the past but he could have a broken heart and begin to do all within his power to obey the words of the book and to please God.

The world has not been evangelized for many centuries now but it is time that the people of God get a broken heart for souls, humble themselves before the Lord and begin to seek a way to get the gospel to the world. God is going to allow Josiah to die in peace and not see His punishment on his country. I hope for better results for us.

Could we not do all within our power to get the gospel to the world and pray that God would be pleased, glorified, blessed, and have mercy on His church and this country? We are living in the last days but do not have to have a fatalistic and pessimistic attitude. God can yet use us if we will but dedicate our lives to the furtherance of His kingdom and causes.
