Bulletin for the Week: VISIONNEWS.July27 Another great Sunday! We had 138 during the Adult Bible Fellowship and Sunday School hour, 185 in the morning service, and 112 in the evening service. (You may wonder why I give these numbers. It is to help us look back on these days and have a better remembrance of what was going on during the history of our church – so “hi” to Thatcher, Luther, Eli, and the other kids who might read this some day). Pastor Gardner preached an awesome message from Matthew 9:18-38 that was titled “Helping but Hurting for More.” It was exciting to see how all are welcomed by Jesus and all are helped. We learned so much about the character of God as it was revealed to us through Jesus Christ’s care for all He met. We had a very special service in the evening as we were reminded from Exodus 31 that all believers are filled with the Spirit and given abilities to do the work of the ministry. It is not just the work of a select few but God works through all of us – that yield to Him. During the afternoon, at the 4:30 Teacher and Workers Meeting we were given some super practical advice on how to improve the quality of our teaching by listening and spending time with those in our fellowships and classes. Between the Student Bible Fellowship and the morning service many of the high school young men, accompanied by John Pearson, went to our Pastors (make-shift) office to pray with him. They really encouraged him by doing this. We have some awesome young men in our church. During the morning service we were blessed by hearing David Velasquez sing for us. It is great to have them home with us for a furlough. They are such a special family. Speaking of missionaries, we also got the chance to meet the newest member of the Tolson Clan at church tonight. Ella looks so much like her sisters did at her age, except for the dark hair. After the evening service, several couples from the Connect Fellowship took the Caucutts out for dinner at Pepperonis at Midway. We had a great time together. Tim, Alicia, and their kids will be greatly missed. They are moving to North Carolina. I know I hijacked the update to show an Adult Bible Fellowship activity. If your Fellowship will send in a picture of your monthly activity we would love to post it here.
