Genesis 47:9 And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.
When Pharoah asked Jacob how his life had been he showed his attitude. Jacob was God’s man. He had seen God bless him over and over. He had 12 sons. He had become very rich. God had always protected him.
It is true that he had had some problems. He did think that he had lost his son. But really God had been good. He is now 130 years old and says that he didn’t have it as good as his parents.
He didn’t have it as good as they had it either. He had suffered. He says that he has not lived long and what he has lived has been hard. I do not want to have that attitude or that spirit.
I want to live thankful to God for the days that He has given me. I want to be thankful for the friends and family that He has given me. I do not deserve all that God has done for me. I want to be a happy, contented, and grateful man.
God is good. He is always good and what He does is good. I don’t deserve it but I am sure grateful!
