The whole claim that they can’t control themselves

May 30, 2014 By Austin Gardner Leave a Comment

I Corinthians 14:32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

So many times some Christian will claim that God comes over them and they lose control. They can’t help themselves. They must speak, dance, shout, sing, scream, etc. That simply is not the truth. The Corinthians were experiencing charismatic chaos as well. They were doing all sorts of things in their extremely emotional state.

Paul tells us that they were in charge of their spirit. They could sit still and be quiet.

So many times we claim that God is doing things that we have no Biblical proof! We claim that He takes over our hearts and minds and makes us do certain things. That simply is not the truth.

We are not Old Testament prophets. We are in the New Testament and here is a verse so that you can know that if some spirit is taking over your heart and life it is not God.
