Isaiah 1:3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
This verse is pretty rough. Even a donkey knows where he lives, where he gets fed, and who it is that owns him. God’s people do not know as much as the animal. They never consider that who they are, what they have, and the provisions they receive come from the Lord God of Heaven.
I think it is very applicable for us also. We have so much. God is so good to us. Some how we begin to feel like we have done it ourselves. We think that we are independent agents. We do not need God. He is not that involved in our lives.
The truth is that we are in the place of the donkey here. We do have a master. He has given us life and a place to enjoy it. He has provided food for us. He is providing protection from the elements and enemies.
I want to acknowledge His goodness in my life. He is God and I love Him. I want to acknowledge that all I am and have, and can do is because of Him!
