Psalm 18:6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
David knew that God heard and answered prayer in his day. He knew that he had been in trouble. He didn’t know what to do to escape. He called out to God. His heart was broken. He needed help. God heard his cry. God listened. God answered. God delivered David.
God is a prayer hearing and answering God. That is testified to all throughout the Scriptures. He waits on us to cry out to Him. When I don’t cry out to Him I show that I don’t really believe that He is interested, that He will hear and answer. In effect I show to Him and the world my unbelief.
God is good. I have grown cold and withdrawn many times but He never has. I have gotten lazy in my personal time and in my prayer but He is not vengeful. He is kind, merciful, and full of grace. He hears me when I call out to Him. He answers.
There is not God like the God of the Bible. He is a God that hears and answers. I will call on Him. I will believe Him. I will act like He is who He is!
