I Chronicles 28:2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:
David had it in his heart and it was something he thought about, discussed, planned and it affected his life and the life of his family.
It is amazing how much our children are affected by what is important to us. David was not allowed to do what he dreamed of doing but God allowed him to prepare the way so that his son could do so.
How many parents today live out their dreams through their children? I am not saying it is right to do so but it does happen so how much better would it be to have a dream that ought to be lived out in the life of your child and a dream that would give life and purpose to your children.
I fear that many of our children learn that we talk one way at church and church events and another at home. They soon learn what is really important to us! They learn what really consumes our heart.
I think it is possible to say that they live out our heart more than we would be comfortable with admitting!
