Not taking credit for another man’s work

Romans 15:18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, 19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

Paul says that he is very careful not to take credit for work that God did not do through him. He liked going where others had not preached. He like knowing that God was using Him.

I am unable to claim this very much. Every where I have preached others have gone before. I preach and stand on the shoulders of great men that have gone before. But I do want to know that I am carrying my own load. I want to get the job done. I want to accomplish a work for God.

I love that Paul makes it clear in this passage that what he has sought to do was to fully preach the gospel of Christ. He wanted to make it clear all that God had done through Christ on the cross.

I want it to be the goal of my life to do all that I can to preach the gospel fully. I want to explain Jesus and what He has done for all lost people. I want to carry the gospel.

Are you working at carrying your own burden? Are you getting the job done that God has given you to do!
